The Number of Babies In ICE Detention at the Border Has Shot Upward Since January

The number of infants under the age of one in Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention at the borderĀ has increased since January, reaching levels that alarm immigration advocates. By the end of February, it was determined that at least “nineĀ infants under one year of age” were detained in the South Texas Family Residential Center, which is one of the largest family detention centers in the country with 2,400 beds.
