The Center on Immigration and Child Welfare (CICW) is housed in the School of Social Welfare at University of California, Berkeley. UC Berkeley advances critical inquiry, debate, discovery, and innovation that contribute to building a better world. UC Berkeley is on path to become a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) by 2027. UC Berkeley’s School of Social Welfare strives to transform the systems that perpetuate poverty and social disadvantage and represents a core of diverse student leaders and faculty practicing social justice, community-engaged scholarship, advocacy, leadership, and scholarship. 

UC Berkeley is a public land-grant research university in Berkeley, California. It was established in 1868 and is the state’s first land-grant university. It is also a founding member of the Association of American Universities and is the founding campus of the University of California system.
