The CICW strengthens and supports state and local agencies committed to the welfare of immigrant families and children involved in, or at risk of involvement in, the public child welfare system. We work collaboratively and in partnership with service providers, helping build capacity to promote positive outcomes for immigrant families and their children with regard to safety, permanency, and well-being.
Training & Technical Assistance
The CICW provides a centralized source of high-level training and technical assistance (T&TA) by phone, email, video conferencing, and on-site visits. The CICW provides direct access to T&TA from leading researchers and practitioners in the fields of child welfare and immigration law and policy.
Brief consultations by phone and email are offered free of charge. We are currently funded to provide T&TA to child welfare systems in California, including a limited number of on-site consultations and trainings. We also provide T&TA throughout the U.S. and internationally (fees are negotiable).
