/ Resources / Policy / Immigration Executive Action

On November 20, 2014, President Obama announced his “Immigrant Accountability Executive Action.” Particularly relevant to children in immigrant families is the President’s executive action to extend deferred action. In addition to expanding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, the President’s executive action will also lead to the creation of the Deferred Action for Parental Accountability (DAPA) program, which offers temporary relief from deportation and work authorization for undocumented parents of U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident children. Please review the list of resources on this page to learn more about DACA, DAPA, and the additional actions that President Obama announced in November.
